Ward comes to us from Washington State USA, where he is the President and Executive Director of CASA Network (Christian Association Serving Adults). CASA is a ministry that encourages and helps equip those in life's 2nd half. Ward's background has been in pastoral ministry and he will share with us from the theme "Living to Grow or Growing to Live". He is also the keynote speaker for the Fresh Horizons Conference that precedes the Seniors Convention. Ward is married to Dixie and it will be their first visit to Australia. They have 2 married children and 7 grandchildren.Electives
Several Electives have been selected for you enjoyment. You will be able to register for the one of your choice when you arrive at the convention.- Creative Photography: Digital photography has opened up a whole new era in this pleasurable pastime. Improve your skills or learn new ones as you navigate the amazing things you can do with your photographs on your computer.
- Improving your Golf: Would you like an hours free group lesson with a golf pro to help improve your game? You can enjoy that experience by this elective. Open to men and women. If practical, bring a putter and a putting wedge and have some serious fun!
- A pictorial visit to the Antarctic: You may not be able to make the trip but you can hear first hand from someone who has. Hear his story and see the breathtaking beauty of this rugged land through the lens of the camera.
- Make your own Cards: Card making is a favourite hobby of many people and whether you are a beginner or an advanced student of the art, you will benefit from the practical advice and hands on nature of this elective. A small charge may apply for materials.
Evening Programmes
An opportunity to dress up and go out for dinner at the "Crowne Plaza" Pelican Waters.- Friday night - at 6pm for 6.30pm. Dress is semi-formal and a photographer will be on hand to take your individual , couple or group photos.
- Saturday night - at 6pm for 6.30pm. The theme is "Futuristic Fashion". Let your imagination run wild to visualise what people will be wearing in the year 2050 and then dress accordingly. Come along and enjoy yourself and the fruits of everyone else's imagination.
